Mr. Barker first joined Citadel in 2004 as a member of the Event Driven team and was then appointed Head of Global Equities Primary Strategies in 2005, Portfolio Manager in 2009 and Regional Co-Head of Global Equities San Francisco in 2012. Prior to joining Citadel, Mr. Barker served as a Financial Analyst for the Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets divisions of Goldman, Sachs & Co. He serves as an advisory board member for the Mgrublian Center for Human Rights at Claremont McKenna College and received a bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College.

Subject: Abe Shulman

Subject of Interest

Abe Shulman is the head is Convertible Arbitrage. He joined Citadel in 2013. Prior to assuming his current role, he served as a Portfolio Manager in the Global Credit group focused on convertible bonds and capital structure arbitrage. He began his career at Goldman Sachs where he worked for more than ten years, most recently as a Vice President on the Equity Derivatives trading desk. Mr. Shulman received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University.

Pablo Salame is Head of Global Credit at Citadel. He also serves on Citadel’s Portfolio Committee. Prior to joining Citadel in 2019, Salame worked at Goldman Sachs for more than 22 years, most recently serving as Co-Head of the Securities Division for 10 years. His previous roles include Head of European Equities Trading, Co-Head of Global Credit, and Global Co-Head of Emerging Market Debt. He began his career working for Citicorp. Pablo is a member of the Brown University Corporation Board of Trustees, the external advisory board of the Carney Institute for Brain Science, the Board of Directors of Signature Theatre, and of the Advisory Board of the Billie Jean King Leadership Initiative. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in applied mathematics from Brown University.

Umesh Subramanian is the Chief Technology Officer at Citadel. Prior to joining Citadel, he spent 13 years at Goldman Sachs, most recently serving as a Partner and Co-Head of the Technology Division. While at Goldman Sachs, Subramanian was a member of the Board of Directors of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation. Before that, Subramanian worked at Morgan Stanley. Subramanian serves on the NYU Stern Tech MBA Advisory Board. He received a BTech in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and an MS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Stephen Merkel is the Executive Managing Director, General Counsel and Secretary of Cantor Fitzgerald, L.P. He joined the firm in 1993. He is also Executive Vice-President, General Counsel and Secretary of BGC Partners, Inc.  Previously, he was the Director, Senior Vice-President, General Counsel and Secretary of eSpeed. Prior to joining Cantor Fitzgerald, Mr. Merkel was Vice-President and Assistant General Counsel at Goldman Sachs & Co., dedicated to the J. Aron Division. Mr. Merkel graduated with a B.A. Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania and received his law degree from the University of Michigan School of Law.

how about the auditors of the major brokerage firms?

IF Goldman executed your trade they were paid a commission How do they record the commission? They didn’t earn it YET why because they never settled your trade so these open trades was never settled SO the income has not been earned

Its a liability to the firms.
