Lance Carter Gooden (R-TX) is a committee member of the 116th Congress U.S. House Committee on Financial Services. He is the U.S. Representative for Texas’s 5th congressional district, having won the general election held on November 6, 2018. Gooden previously served in the Texas House of Representatives for District 4. He served two terms in the state House from 2011 to 2015 before he lost his re-election bid in the 2014 Republican primary election. He was returned to office in 2016 for this third nonconsecutive term in the legislature. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (BA, BBA).
